full-tilt-poker-series-espana-2010In the second largest turnout of the 2010 Spanish Poker Tour, 198 poker players from all over Europe battled it out for a €188,100 prize pool at the SPT Sevilla. Spain’s Álvaro Santamaría was the winner, cashing €43,300. Joining Álvaro at the final table were two Everest online qualifiers — David Amilleta (whose second place earned him – €27,500) and Jonas Streich (5th–€11,300), as well as 2010 Spanish Poker Champion Marcelo Camus (4th– € 27.500).

Many familiar European champions played at the Tour’s last regular season stop, including Team Everest’s Catarina Santos (2010 SPT Aranjuez Champion), the Live the Dream Team’s Javier Martinez Gil (2009 Spanish Poker Champion and winner of the 2010 SPT Ibiza), and 2010 EPEC Champion Mikael Johansson.

Even Tournament Director Thomas Kremser got in on the action. Wanting to experience his deep-stack, high-value structure as a player, Thomas was very satisfied with the results—even if he did go out on Day 1.

Carsten Joh, the well known player and winner of a coverted bracelet at the World Series of Poker, won the inaugural Marbella Mob Open at the Casino Marbella last month. Joh beat 125 other players to take the victory and winner’s cheque for €10,000.

The Freeze Out tournament saw some well known players at the tables, including Paul Zimbler “The Marbella Kid” as well as regular Casino Marbella players César Ordónez and Raúl González Baena as well as tournament organisers the Marbella Mob, David Dancey, Gary Collins and Donnna Fransz.

Once Paul Zimbler was knocked out on the second day, Carsten became the favourite to take the title and went onto the final table (which included Raúl González Baena and Simon Alexander) with a large chip stack.

The heads up was tough and long with Carsten up against Lorena Aparicio, a previous winner of María Poker Ladies Night, who went to the final table as chip leader. Carsten’s aggressive play, however, saw finally take the victory and end a hugely successful Marbella Mob Open.

Isabel María Torralba Cardosa won the latest round of the Maria Poker Ladies Night at Casino Marbella. As well as a winner’s cheque for €900, she also won a free entry into the Unibet Open, which takes place this month in London.

Once again there was a high skill level by the participants, who also included Lorena Aparicio, Donna Fransz of the Marbella Poker Mob, Rosa Tous Estany and Yeidy Ramierez, who are all regular players at Casino Marbella.

The latest round of the Spanish Poker Championship, sponsored by Eurosuperpoker, took place at the Casino Kursaal in the beautiful city of San Sebastian in the heart of the Basque country. It was a good tournament for the locals, as the top three all came from the Euskadi Poker club. The winner was well known local player Unai Iruin. The 36 – year – old beat the other 204 players and picked up a winner’s cheque for €33, 393, not bad for someone who says that he got into playing poker after watching Rounders! The final round of the championship takes place in Valladolid , with Pedro Javier Piazuelo Ferrero leading the overall league.
